Messy Jesse, Jackson

Jackson tends to get involved with important issues and will always put himself on the line. Great attributes by any standard. His self importance is somewhat annoying though, and the whole “hymietown” incident from way back. But overall he is an extremely impressive leader and I think that black Americans should be proud to have him as a public representative to the extent they believe he is one.  There are few political or religious type figures that have flawless records over decades, and Jackson is no exception.

Compared to Trent Lott, Al Sharpton, or John Murtha he looks pretty good. And compared to most others. So I am going to give Jackson a break on his past anti-Semitism and his ego and hope he handles the Kramer incident and future hostage negotiations with grace.  Amen.
