On Keith Olberman, MSNBC

October 23rd, 2006 - Politics - No Comments

I like to listen to the news while I work. I thought this guy Olberman was fresh at one point. No doubt he is a smart cookie and has an innovative news format with topical, whimsical content. But at some point I realized he is merely a radical liberal. He will do anything to “take out” the president or Bill O Reilly. In fact he wastes most of his show nowadays just making silly voices mocking conservatives with baseless background commentary. What an idiot. Give me a break.

At first, back in the day, when he made fun of Bill O’ Reilly’s blatant hypo-criticism it was pretty hilarious. See “falafel’ and “O Reilly” In Google.

Olberman’s pompous voice makes me ill nowadays too. He is really merely the alter-ego of O’Reilly which is what is most humorous. They are two sides of the same coin. If he hates Bill he hates himself; he is projecting.

Bottom Line: Olberman is lame. So is O’Reilly. Need a sure thing? Go with Blitzer, Lehrer, Amanpour, Russert, and many others. More to come on other “journalists”.
No, I’m not kidding you.

Bridge Jumpers in West VA

October 21st, 2006 - Politics - No Comments

I hate to say it but maybe some steroetypes about West Virginia have some validity. Take for example the much hyped bridge jumping event today - ostensibly with parachutes. Unfortunately one didn’t open which is a very sad tragedy indeed. Maybe this whole idea is a bad idea. Maybe even if people want to do it they should not publicize it or encourage others to partake in dangerous activities. MAYBE THEY SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED THE CONTEST AFTER THE GENTLEMAN DIED INSTEAD OF CONTINUING AFTER THEY REMOVED THE BODY. That’s West Virginia I guess. Are you kidding me? Give me a break!

On Madonna, hmm

October 21st, 2006 - Politics - 1 Comment

Is someone giving this woman a hard time for acting like a role model and delivering $3 Million to Africa? And for taking a child from an orphanage that would have certainly lived a horrible life without her blessing? Are you kidding me? If we beat up on all of our philanthropic role models maybe no impoverished black children from Africa will ever be adopted.

I am not a big fan of Madonna by a long shot. I despise her style of music. I don’t think grown women should run around in their underwear in public, or disgrace the cross, or anyone else’s religious symbolism.

Also conceptually the appearance of the rich lady coming in to save the poor black child has some disquieting overtones. I have plenty of issues with Madonna’s erratic image and customarily offensive actions.

But, let us judge her specific act in this case and not mix it with all other acts in her life. This act is an act of charity. Whatever is going on in the background, the only true action she is taking is an overt act of love, faith, and charity. Maybe she won’t be the best Mom or role model, but neither is the poor lady running the destitute orphanage.

Madonna went to one of the world’s poorest countries, found one among the most destitute children, received the blessing of that child’s “family”, and left $3 million in her wake. I would suggest that everyone else in the world take similar actions and we all live in peace and love as Madonna is promoting through her selfless act in Malawi. Give her a break and give me a break. Angelina, Brad, and any one else who expresses themselves as champions of the poor, God Bless You. Everyone else, stop kidding me.

False, pretentious indignence to sensationalize and capitalize on current events

October 17th, 2006 - Politics - No Comments

So much for respectable news sources. The news commentators who attempt to present themselves like they are the “real” news are really just more low lifes like Hannity and Colmes, Keith Olberman, Joe Scarborough, etc. because of the way they waste time highlighting disgraced beauty contestants, kidnapped children, misquoted public figures, and anything they can hype to make another ratings buck. No credibility like that.

Thats not news - just a business cycle of sensationalizing the popular noise of the day. How lame. Give me a break.

Oh hi Oh

I have been thinking about Ohio recently.

Growing up the only context I had was my favorite song “Ohio”, about Kent State during Vietnam, by Neil Young.

Interestingly, for me, Ohio has come full circle. It is now back in the middle of politics during a time of warfare. First of all, by becoming the decisive state in the ‘04 presidential elections; next because Ohioans almost always vote on the side of the winner, more so than other states. This has special meaning because it implies that Ohio is a mini-mirror of the country.

While traditionally one would have asked whether something, “played in Peoria”, it is more pertinent today to ask if it will play in Ohio. Ohio is the US maybe.

Let’s review my recent impressions on Ohio and how it is a reflection of our broader country, keeping in mind I have not studied anything about the state.

I have worked with great charity and business people from Ohio the last few years; in fact there seems to be a resurgence of good young mobile tech savvy businesspeople around the country.

Lots of factories in Ohio have shut down recently. Clearly a reflection of the country too.

There is Klan activity and related race clashes in Ohio, and plenty of racism around the country.

Job loss, poverty, racism, and illegal immigration all intersect in unhealthy ways in Ohio like throughout the US.

There are terrible pockets of poverty and crime in Ohio like around the country.

Ohio seems to have the lowest life politicians imaginable, many of whom are being indicted currently. Traficant was just the tip of the iceberg as far as corruption in Ohio politics goes.

Maybe one day I will read about and go to Ohio. For now it is a little mirror of America in a little corner of my mind. Peace.

A New Party

July 6th, 2006 - Politics - No Comments

Third Party Politics - The New Party

Formation:

Formed at the grassroots level with independent consensus builders and libertarians who adopt disenfranchised Republicans and Democrats from congress

Is a coalition meant to overthrow status quo of corruption, waste, and ineffectiveness

Agrees to forget past political differences

Platform:

Fiercely anticorruption

Believes in healthcare for all US citizens

Believes in the best education for all US citizens

Believes in very strong environmental protection

Believes in an extremely simplistic tax structure like a flat tax or value added tax

Believes in free market economics

Believes in promoting pure American ideals globally - like human rights, political freedom, free speech, and environmentalism

The New Party believes in more and better intelligence infrastructure and more special forces, with less overt warfare

The New Party is fiercely antiterrorism (defined as any person or group who would support the death of noncombatant innocents – ie affiliated with any suicide bombing group for example – or most groups that define themselves as “jihadists”, “white supremacists”, “skinheads”, “racists”, etc.)

The New Party is highly Internet centric.

Believes in electronic government

Real time participatory community.

Believes in propping up the poorest and weakest citizens

Believes government should promote nonprofit work and volunteerism

Does not believe in subsidies for special interest groups – other than considerations for charities helping the sick and poor, those which government has failed to provide

Believes in advancement only by merit

Does not believe in “pork” or “horsetrading”

Does not believe in educational quotas, affirmative action, or the corrupt 8a program

Believes in transparency in government

Embraces all relevant technology to evolve the political model.

Believes in a line item veto

Does not believe in a forced nonmarket minimum wage

Believes in job training not welfare

Believes in teaching people to fish but not fishing for them, and believes the government should do same

Believes in fair trade

Believes in much higher standards for the press

Believes in much higher standards for Hollywood

Believes low taxes are good for rich and poor alike by encouraging additional investment of capital that will cycle through the economy - enhancing opportunity for all and perpetually raising the GDP, whereas raising taxes generally has the opposite effect

Believes in facts and statistics as opposed to political rhetoric

Believes teachers should be paid more than politicians or businesspeople if they live up to the highest standards

Believes companies who hire illegal aliens should be prosecuted for illegally harming the earnings power and security of American families

The New Party represents only common people; corporate interests just to the extent they reflect the interests of common people

All members stick to strict ethical guidelines as rolemodels and representatives of the common people

Concerned about the opinions of the average American taxpayers and encourages real time townhall and online townhall feedback.

The key is that the New Party constituency is Americans whose opinions count, and they are paying their fair share to support the success of the union.

The opinions of companies, lobbyists, and foreign countries or citizens do not count except to the extent it happens to align with the interests of average Americans.

Believes in “legal” immigration exclusively, for that matter everything else qualified as “legal” and nothing else “illegal” – do not support or condone the anarchy of illegal immigration

Believe immigration problems can be solved with government process reform (fix INS and ICE) and passage of new laws that enable more legal immigration and deal with existing illegals

Believes in gay “civil unions” with marriage benefits but not specifically “gay marriage” since some married people, religious and otherwise, want to keep their own right to exclusivity

The New Party specifically works against the interests of groups they identify as rich corrupt industries and lobbyists. While tobacco, alcohol, Hollywood, gun dealers, etc. may have legal products there is certainly nothing illegal about working against their interests in congress and in promotional arenas as First Amendment protections for the interests of common Americans.

The New Party believes in international coalition building and evolving crosscultural communications

No position on abortion – different factions within New Party use defined process to reach public position of group, if any. Perhaps will go for “Choose Life” platform, if any. Meaning, do what you want, but we recommend such and such….

No position on stemcells. (see above)

Rulemaking:

The New Party itself is modeled on a system of checks and balances to establish good rules, enforcement, and a properly developed policy platform.

Disrupt the Status Quo! – go Third Party!

Two Lame Parties

Democrats and Republicans

I think it is easy to prove you are making a mistake if you are a Democrat or Republican.

If you worked for Enron or were a shareholder you have to admit the organization has/had no credibility, and you would therefore abandon your loyalties. Similarly, if you can prove corruption in your political party will you embrace it over and over or abandon it and work with a better model? Below I will prove why it’s obvious that your political party is corrupt, and you should permanently quit it in favor of a new third party or no party affiliation at all.

It is extremely easy to prove corruption and other ills are pervasive throughout both parties. Are you associated with Democrats? Then you are associated with winners like William Jefferson, who was found with $70,000 in his freezer and was re-elected by perhaps the stupidest people on earth, other than maybe those who voted convicted crack head Marion Barry back as mayor of DC some time ago. And irrespective of pervasive illegal and immoral activity, the congressional chairmen are now folks like of Chuck Rangel, Barney Frank, Ted Kennedy, John Conyers, etc. Those you can’t trust because they are heavily left wing partisans, and seem likely to bankrupt the country and leave us unsafe from foreign invasion. Carl Levin isn’t so bad. I sat next to him once at a Redskins/Lions game and he cusses like a sailor so I kinda like him. Moreover those with no credibility whatsoever are the PR leaders of the Dem party to the outside world, like Howard Dean and John Kerry - totally lame if you ask me and 75% of Americans.

If you are a Republican, may God help you too. You are associating yourself with the likes of “The Hammer” Tom Delay, who has manipulated people, the system, and your pocketbook to maintain his power and that of his party. Or another great winner, macaca man, George Allen. While I loved Allen Sr. as the Redskins coach during the glory days, the son is just a racist idiot, who managed to lose his own race due to one comment, and therefore ruined the entire election and control of congress for the Republican party. And how about Abramoff, the poster boy for the party. How many other scum Republicans were in his back pocket beyond Delay? How about pedophile predator Mark Foley; are you associating yourself with his party too? Duke Cunnigham anyone? Is this dude part of your party or are you part of his? Or James Traficant and Bob Ney, other evil crooks, in this case from Ohio. Oh I see, you are a “Reagan Republican”. Well get on your horse and buggy and head to Hollywood, because the Reagan era is over and you can’t be of any value to society reminissing about it. Work on the future and shake your partisan ghosts.

You just can’t dissociate yourself from the corruption if you are supporting the broken two-party system that insulates it.

Give yourself a break; give your country a break; and most of all give me a break.

On success

May 31st, 2006 - Politics - No Comments

To be truly successful there can never be any doubt in your mind that you will accomplish your goals, even if you have to alter your plans occasionally to hit the same targets.

Your success is as much a matter of your willpower as it is of the skills you will develop on your journey. There are hardly any respected businesspeople, athletes, community leaders, or artists who did not feel certain of their ability to adapt and pus forward. You need to fight and evolve in order to achieve the results required to be a success.

Even though your attitude is focused on winning, you should not be emotionally attached to the outcome of any one situation. Cut your losses if you are certain you’ve failed because moving forward you are going to need a clear head. This calm, confident mindset will help you focus on your exponentially expansive, efficient and evolutionary life work.

Reliving past trials and tribulations is a drain on your mental resources. You should make a conscientious effort to only learn positive lessons from everything you do, whether the activity itself failed or was successful. Don’t allow the final outcomes of attempted sales, deals, or other problems, or employee issues harm your forward momentum and general ability to execute your plan. Focus solely on getting the targeted outcome from each situation, not your emotional response to all the difficulties in the process.

Your job is to make logic out of chaos, and to make sure you act quickly to solve problems, not to dwell on the confusion and problems themselves.

You may have to overcompensate because you will find many of the people you deal with won’t do what they should do, or what they say they will do, regardless of their intentions.

The question is: can you execute successful strategies to overcome these inherent problems? If so, you can make chaos a strategic advantage by playing off of others weaknesses.

To achieve your highest goals, it is imperative to be at practically a military state of readiness, never letting your guard down until the game is over. The most successful people became that way by consistently believing in themselves, toiling around the clock, and testing out every promising idea. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy; if you decide to be a success, you can be.
